China has already won its personal Olympics.

From many years of preparation (starting from the 2001 China's winning bid process) to its final execution, the end results for the 2008 summer Olympics was an astounding opening scenario. In all the probabilities, this Olympics will be very hard to surpass, or even to be matched by the next 2012 Summer Olympic Games due to be hold in London, as well by many others Olympic Games to be still organized in a future far away. In the China's horizon, these Olympics can very well mark the beginning of a new Chinese's renaissance.


For some detractors, the Olympics' ideals were overshadowed by the fact that there are celebrated inside a nation ruled by an authoritarian one party system, but nobody can deny that these Olympics are one of the most astonishing event humanity has ever witnessed .


The bashing coming from the westerner political leaders, news medias (and I must admit even from myself) on China's decision makers, it could well be counterproductive. Those harsh criticisms can only create sterile confrontation with China, and in the near future these attitudes on China leaderships won't much help in solving current problems such as environment, economic, and political issues which are treating humanity's well being and survival.

Cooperation and not confrontation is the only solution, there are not others alternatives. If we keep fighting on national interests without seeing the big picture, we are condemned this world. We shouldn't forget we are living together in this one world, and no others worlds are waiting for us to fill in. If all the nations won't stick together and find ways to cooperate with solving all the problems which are afflicting humanity today, then tomorrow with all the likelihoods we will perish all together.


Of course, I'm not suggesting to close an eye on China human rights' violations. To ease the tensions with China, I believe there are other ways in helping China's leaders to make the right choices, for the good of their own people, rather than criticizing them. After all, I do not believe the leaders of China are egocentric and bloody thirsty dictators. I don't see them in the roles of Pol Pot figures, or as Stalin kind dictators.

China's leaders are smart people. When they saw the Soviet Empire crumbled and dissolved within itself, consequently they realized that the Soviet Empire's collapse gave away an uncontrollable, and erratic form of democracy. Right that moment the Chinese leaders understood one thing, the danger of a society not used to freedom and economic openness, sliding towards its own downfall. If they had China's people get what they wanted, a democracy without the solid foundations, later the nation of China could had followed the same path of the Russian Federation, "rampant crime and corruptions on any level inside the Russian society" and probably China would had lost any opportunity to become later a great nation.


Today China is communist only on paper. Chinese leaders knew that the communism was dead, and for China the only path left was a new form of leadership if they wanted to become an economic power. Eventually, China's leaders knew that once they had opened the doors to a more open system, soon or later they had to give up their power. A strong nation needs a strong economy and that can be accomplished only in open and free society.

These same leaders are keeping power as long as they can, ultimately to give strong social structures as supports to a fast growing Chinese economy, thus becoming a strong nation in which later could give to the world a possible guidance for the future of the entire humanity. To accomplish this task China's leaderships need stability, and for them to have stability meant to be in control, and unfortunately to be in control for the leaders of China also meant to limit human rights.

They are really conscious that before China could reach the pinnacle of a great power, they needed to maintain a strong economic growth, and to do that China needs to be a real democratic nation. At some point, China's leaders will have only a choice left, they will have to change if they want to be part in a future democratic nation.


China's people must be proud of what they have accomplished in these much awaited Olympics. Many years of hard work has finally paid in a dazzling "2008 summer Olympics' opening".

Four days before the opening of the Olympic Games at least sixteen policemen are killed, and 16 more are wounded following an attack against a police station of Kashgar (Kashgar is the capital of the nationalism Uighuro) in the Xinjiang, a nord-occidental region inhabited by the Uiguri with a Muslim majority. According to the Chinese agencies, two men used a truck like a ram in order to penetrate inside the police headquarter to ultimately launch two grenades inside the building.

Eighteen foreign terrorists were arrested the day after the attack occurred in Xinjiang and these (allegedly) terrorists were all connected to al-Qaida. First, I must say that I do not believe the Chinese authorities are telling us all the truth about those arrest, because often the Chinese's authorities have not given any factual evidence in support of their affirmations.


Those terrorists which made that attack in Xinjiang are in all probability Uiguries separatists, and they are not connected to any international Islamic terrorism. Probably the China's authorities are using the terrorists's attack as an excuse, for intimidating any possible act of discontent toward the authoritarian hold of the Chineses upon those lands.

The autonomous region of the Xinjiang at one time was known as the oriental Turkestan, the Chinese Turkestan, the Uyghuristan, or the Sinkiang. It was annexed by different Chinese dynasties during the course of history, and for some brief periods in its history it was independent. Eventually in 1949, this region was overwhelmed by the People's Liberation Army of China and since then it has been a stable part of China. Nowadays, the Xinjiang's region is composed by different ethnic groups, many of them Turkic, the largest of which are the Uyghurs.

Anyway, I believe there are hopes with the Olympic games. Afterward China would be forced to be a bit more open to the rest of the world-wide communities. Even tough, my impression is only a meager consideration, " the Olympic Games are the only chance inside the one-party ruled China, for any prospect of some real form of democracy in the future".

The lyrics of these songs are transpiring hopes of a better future for mankind. Yeaph... everything it's fine, everything it's perfect, but it is? Both lyrics and music are enchanting and inspiring as I said, but unfortunately we shouldn't forget about Tibet.

China people deserves to held the Olympics, not questions about it! What I'm questioning it's the communist party on power! Ultimately, they shouldn't benefit from this worldwide event, because they will transcend from the real meaning of the modern Olympic Games. These Olympics in all probability will be, the most contested Olympics in the modern Olympics' history, but in the other hand it will be the most magnificent Olympics ever held, if anythings goes smoothly as planned by the Beijing's regime. During the Olympics torch traveling around the world, the torch itself has met many protesters with their persisting voices of boycotting China's Olympics, but Beijing hasn't wavered an inch from reaching its final destination: to take the Olympics torch into the city of Lhasa (capital of Tibet), and in the very end Beijing made with this this symbolic gesture a proclamation to the entire world "Tibet is and will be part of China forever"

What sad conclusion for Tibetans ...their hopes have been crushed by the Olympic' spirit and by nationals' economic interests! All end here? No, I don't think so! Humanity has always rebounded (in a way or in an other) back from injustices, and Tibet with its people will too. Maybe, it will take time, a lots time, but eventually they will (see human's history). In the end, all kind of dictatorships have been defeated and Beijing's communist party won't be less...They will be crashed by humanity's history and judgment. Nothing is forever, no empire has lasted for good, and Beijing's despotical regime will met at last the same fate as the Soviet Empire, ostracized from history.

P.S. On a personal note, I want once more to stress out: I have nothing personal with the Chinese people, I admire their culture and their history. China is a great nation with great people that has contributed to the human's history a lot. My quarrel is with those on charge of China's destiny which are hampering ideas and progress of a proud nation.

A new and horrifying genocide is happening in Tibet these days. The position of the news medias in the evolving matter is, they do not know, they do not want to know or, they are afraid to upset someone, what is really happening to Lhasa and in all Tibet. When they speak about approximately 80 dead men, or when they cite Chinese's sources which are speaking about 10 dead, these news medias do not have any idea of how much far are from the reality.

The Tibetan's government has published a listing of the first forty dead assessed, following the Chinese repression over the continuation of the uprising in Lhasa and the neighboring regions.

According to the Chinese's agencies press, more than one hundred Tibetans been involved in the incidents of Lhasa have surrendered to the police. The state television has broadcasted the images of the arrested men, "all of them been involved in the actions of beating, devastation and arsoning" in the course of the interrogations.


The tension continue to be very high in the Tibetan's capital, as well in the other Tibetan's provinces, in a particular way in the Gansu's region, where in the past days some hundred of Tibetan men, on foot and on horses, have headed towards the center of the governmental offices succeeding in replacing the Chinese flag with a Tibetan flag. No sure news on the number of the deaths, at least some hundred been told from some sources of the Tibetan"s government in exile, and only thirteen deaths counted from the Chinese authorities.

A lots of people are afraid that the number of the victims is more elevated then that. To no foreign journalist is granted to enter in Lhasa and the Beijing's government continues to exercise a tight control on all means of information. A correspondent from the BBC in Beijing is letting us know that the number of the military convoys approaching the Tibetan's capital is continuously increasing and that the situation "is much similar to a curfew one".

From sources reached by phones today we learned that in the area of Lithang (Kham - in the oriental part of Tibet) has been killed at least 15 persons yesterday. Beyond 30 have been killed in the course of four various manifestations in the near province of the Amdo (Gansu).

The Chinese army has imposed a total curfew in the Lithang region: anyone adventure in the roads he's arrested. The Tibetans are enforced to remain in their houses and tourists are confined in their hotels. Meanwhile, the protesters mopping up continue undeterred. Frequently firearms' shots have been heard in an intimidating manners.

China isn't embarrassed at all for yesterday incident, when an activist of 'Reporter Without Frontiere' has disturbed the Olympia's ceremony. At the contrary China's representative from the ministry of the foreign countries, Qin Gang has asserted, that those who had sabotaged the ceremony should feel embarrassed for violating the Olympic spirit. The spokesperson has also added, that China is confident of a regular development of the torch's race that will get through 135 localities all over the world and 31 Chinese's provinces.



According to the tradition, in the ancient city of Olympia the sun's rays has once again ignited the Olympic flame. In the course of the official ceremony, in which have assisted the president of the organizing Committee of the Beijing's Games Ling Qi and the president of the Olympic Committee International Jacques Rogge, three activists pertaining to the group Reportèrs sans Frontières have succeeded to unfold, while Ling Qi was speaking, a flag on which were represented, in place of the Olympic circles, five handcuffs on black background. The protesters have been readily stopped from some representatives of the police enforcements, present on the place. The Chinese television has censured the images of the protest.

"we cannot allow that the Chinese government to make use of this symbol of peace without denouncing the dramatic situation of the human rights in China and Tibet".

Also arrested, some Tibetans with Swiss, German and American passports for having tried to wave some banners and Tibetans flags along the streets of Olympia. The president of the CIO, Jacques Rogge, after asserting that "it is not the case" to speak about the boycotting of the Games, has also let he know that the Olympic Committee is cautiously operating with Beijing for a pacific solution of the Tibetan's problem.



Of a different tone, the position taken from the president of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Poettering. In the course of an interview released to a German daily newspaper, Hans-Gert Poettering has declared to be favorable at the hypothesis of the Games' boycott. "Beijing must take a decision and open negotiations immediately", he has asserted. "In the contrary case the boycotting can be justified.

"We desire only the full success over the Games, but not at the cost of the Tibetans' cultural genocide ".

While Beijing, in spite the protests which are coming from all around the world, has not renounced to include Tibet and the Everest's mountain on the Olympic torch crossing them.
