Six degrees more that, will change the world as we know today.

Category:

All those experts, in the global warming field are, warning us about an increases of a couple more degrees in earth's Eco-system could lead humanity to, a cataclysmic disaster. One thing for sure, this tendency of earth's raising temperatures is already happening. Based on the climatologists theories, it's even possible of an increase of six more degrees in our planet. Where, will these climatic mutations take our planet in the near future ? Those 6 more degrees, which will change radically our world the way we know today to, a very alien one.

When, not if these theories will concretize in all their full extents before the end of this century could, these six more degrees increase, leave our planet to different possible events and, scenarios.

Of course they will.

With these degrees increase, superior to the last 100 years history will lead our future to new dramatic scenarios.

*****

Possible scenarios.

* Earth, without the Amazonian forest.

* Without snow on the Himalaya .
* The Arctic poles without ice caps.
* Ghost cities.
* An increase in the desert lands.

* Tropical areas will move from their actual positions, toward a more north or, south directions.

While, other areas of the planet would benefit from the global warm
ing trend. The United Kingdom for example, it's already getting some benefits from the milder clime in the agriculture and, in Greenland where at most was used to grow only potatoes, since a couple of years it has begun other kinds of cultivation.

Of course, a lot depends on how many degrees will effectively increase earth's temperature.

For a better picture of the possible futures that, are waiting us cons
equently to these cataclysmic changes, I will list all of them by going from degree to degree after, I've reviewed all the expert's opinions and, estimations.

*****

Possible scenarios by degrees.

Plus 1 degree:

With 1 more degree, the Arctic will be without ices for more than half of a year's period. Consequently from the ices melting from one more degree, water's level in the oceans will raise while, contemporaneously many of the world's sea coastal areas will sink.

Plus 2 degrees:

With two more degrees, the Tuvalu's archipelago will completely submerge in the sea and, possibly the "Great Barrier Reef", will disappear all together.

Plus 3 degrees: ( it's where more dramatic events will take place).

Amazonian forest in flames, on the Alps won't be anymore snow left, in central Europe wo
uld be more like a north African climate, than today.

Plus 4 degrees:

With four more degrees, countries like Bangladesh and, Egypt will be devastated. Venice will disappear into the waters. Nations, like Canada will become one of the most fertile land on the entire planet.

Plus 5 degrees:

With five more degrees, in place of the temperate bands in the two hemispheres, would be replaced by two enormous uninhabitable zones. Millions of persons would be forced to leave their own lands.

Plus six degrees:

Cities like Tokyo or, New York would be abandoned or completely submerged by waters. Part of the planet would risk to return to the Cretaceous period: that's a 144-65 millions of years ago.

Cretaceous period

Note: degrees are in Celsius, not Fahrenheits.

It's all science fiction? Some skeptics are, easily dismissing the facts.

I could say, only time will tell but (I'm afraid that), these hypothetically futures aren't (unfortunately), so much distant anymore. All these possibilities, are really scary pictures. I don't want to be too pessimistic on the matter but, time is running out...

Is humanity on the verge of extinction?

Category:

On history channel I watched recently a program regarding big disasters plaguing our planet Earth.
Human races been wiped out from Earth's face by different cataclysmic scenarios such as asteroids, comets, gamma ray bursts, and also after recalling all those movies portraying Earth on the verge of extinction by deceases, asteroid impacts, atomic disasters, and by the "danger of global warming".
All these terrifying and apocalyptic scenarios, have puzzled me, leaving me with many questions:

All these "Mega Disasters" are, a real scenario on h
umans path evolution?
Meteors, comets, and asteroids can they really destroy human civilizations the same way they wipe out the dinosaurs?
Has humanity a long overdue with fate, for a tota
l cataclysmic disaster?
And in the end, can humanity survive and recover from it?
I'll try to summarize all my answers in one block.

Asteroids, comets, prophets of doom.

Hundreds of thousands of asteroids have been discovered within the solar system every month.
The Earth has gone through periods of abrupt and catastrophic change, some due to the impact of large asteroids and comets on the planet.
Until recently d
inosaurs were considered to have died off gradually.
The recent discovery of the impact from a large asteroid or
comet on the Yucatan peninsula, had scientists think its size and timing make it, the culprit that would explain the demise of the dinosaurs.
Earth been plague
d by such events since is creation, is well known.
So that in the end humanity is indeed, steering on the path of such cataclysmic scenarios in the near future.
Can we avoid it?
That depends on our technology.

Gamma ray bursts.

Gamma ray bursts, something which I learned from the hi
story channel.
From many disasters impelling on us, this one seems that has
came out from a science fiction movie, but the threat is real, even if it has a very low probability to ever happened is another threat to add in the cataclysmic events list.
And if "I hope in t
he most far future possible" this will ever happen, there is any chance of survival?

No, there is none!
Supernova'gamma-ray bursts announce the demise of the most massive stars in the universe, and hypothetically if Earth was on any of these path, for our world would be the end.

Contagious diseases.

Avian Infectious Diseases, is another emerging infec
tious disease, which threats humanity survival.
Many are concerned that the Bird flu virus will mutate and trigger a human
pandemic.
Will this decease spreading world-wide like a fire, cause human populations to decline dramatically, or all together end human civilization as we know?
Contagious diseases like the bubonic plague which spread in Europe in the 1347s, and causi
ng after five years, 25 million of dead people "one-third of Europe's population".
There were three major epidemics - in the 6th, 14th, and 17th centuries.
The total death toll was 137 million victims.
These diseases can take their toll of human lives, but in the end we'll survive them.

Atomic disasters.

Atomic disasters such as nuclear melt-downs, or a nuclear wars.
Right now, looks like the big players on the "nuclear war" contest, have realized the impossibility to win an atomic war, and "wishfully" they are refraining themselves from ever actuate this threat.

Global warming.

Adding one more at the list is global warming.
Global warm
ing is not the least of all threats to be dismissed.
I believe global warming is on
e serious threat to be reckoned with in the near future, and dealing with it in time, may be one solution.

All these disasters or near disasters will in the end have an impact in the human evolution and history for sure.
We can deal with some of them right now, by modifying our own behaviors, others are in God's hands.

Is our world in crisis?

Category:

The world is changing in a rapid pace, not just for global warming,
but also for other significant impacts like, the human activity in the world environment,
the biodiversity, agriculture and the water cycle.
The world resources has been greatly pillaged like, there was an infinite availability for,
the ever increasing human populations.
Big decisions awaits for humanity in the near future for these big changes.
About 6.3 billions of humans population living right now in the world,
in the 2020 the previsions are of 8,2 billions of humans populations increase.
Where we, find more food and water for all this humanity.

Is the amazonian forest disappearing?

The amazonian forest, one of the major earth system lung it's disappearing at a rapid pace.
The Brazilian congress was voting recently for a project law,
in which could reduce the amazonian forest of about 50% of it's actual size.
The 50% amazonian reduction represent more than 4 times the size of Portugal.
You can see from the above, splendid and in the same time terrifying picture also,
that the amazonian forest it's burning.
The clouds "monoxide of carbonic" from the burning forest traveling through the oceans,
and finally, after 13th miles reaching the Australian continent.

Are humanity at risk of extinction?

Are we at risk of extinctions?
Yes I do believe so, we don't see it because we are, so much blinded by our ever increasing greed for more goods to consume that we,
don't give a damn about our surrounding environment.
If we, don't find a right balance with mother earth for, our ever increasing needs we are, procrastinating our future to a complete human race extinction.
My it's not a pessimistic view of this world just a reality check,
like many other peoples, trying to sound a warning bell before time runs out...
