Why God, why me?

Category:

Today, I would like much to entertain all of you in a long and very futile conversation on God and his preferred creation, a true product of perfection: the human being.

In this passionate and mindless conversation of mine, would I try to unravel the eternal and yet unsolved mystery on the human creation (if indeed there were any?).

Not, no really! It will be a simple questionnaire on the human existence and its earthly sufferings - and it'll be mostly based on the questionable rhetoric from religious teachings regarding its condition and existence in this planet, or it'll be more based on rationality nerd?

Maybe it will be a mix of both or else? At any rate, after that I'll be done with all of my nonsense, we'll see what will come out (hopefully everything will make sense gile).

Why God, why me?

Throughout critical circumstances of my life, I was often used to cry:

Why God?
God why me?
God why I have to suffer?

...and of course, the most obvious one:

My God, what I have done to deserve it?

...I was looking very hard to find some answers (any answers) to questions from a God, who never gave any.

Today, in trying to help myself to find some answers, I'll use a kind of very eccentric criterion. In this criterion to formulate this my naive and somewhat crazy assumption, I'll be using (as usual) solely my incorrect reasoning. - Duh! eek

My religion has taught me, to invoke God in times of misery and sufferings by looking hard inside my own soul, my own spirituality. However, in the end, because my invocations were left unanswered by an indisposed God, and hence I felt alone and miserable. Consequentially, I was always led to the less spiritual part of myself, my brain (gelakguling), in order to get some comfortable answering.

Maybe it's that there aren't really any valid reasons or religious explanations, for the existence of humanity or its sufferings? They are just there!

Perhaps, the human being was just dumped on this lonely planet not by a supreme being, but rather by violent random acts, which were generated from a constant expanding universe?

Do I have lost my faith, and thus I became an atheist or worst a sinner nangih? Maybe I have, or perhaps it's just that I'm still searching for a tiny speck of evidence that God really does exist?

After all, the perceiving and understanding for the mystery over the creation of mankind, isn't it perhaps an integral part of an elevated and rational mind? If yes, then why we need the help of a monotheistic religion (setan) while coping with our daily doubts and misfortunes?

P.S. Gee, I've just realized that this article comes with too many maybe and also many question marks! I'm really sorry for all that.Signature

Unthinkable - What means to be human?

Category:

A couple of nights ago I watched a movie which in my humble opinion is one of the most thought provoking movies I have seen in many years, Unthinkable (Unthinkable is an American suspense thriller directed by Gregor Jordan and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Sheen and Carrie-Anne Moss - and if you like, You can read the entire plot here in the Wikipedia).

By just watching this movie many of us will be put in very conflicting debates. Some of you could even see it as an anti- Muslims movie, but I don't see it as such because I believe it makes us reflect a little more on the real nature of humanity! It makes us ask questions like: is it morally permissible to commit terrible atrocities on other human beings when a given situation arises?

Anyway after watching it, I couldn't refrain to ask myself some moral questions like: how far I'm willing to go to save millions of lives by just using brutal methods to obtain vital informations without losing my own humanity?

Or could I keep more easily my own humanity and thus my moralities, by letting those millions to die of a sure death? What I meant is: let those millions be lost but at least I could have kept my sanity by not torturing those two poor children, after done with their father.

To be able of choosing and later to justify one of the above solutions, I do really need to be totally desensitized on the matter (gosh, what a horrible thought gelakguling ).

Unthinkable Trailer 2010

This, "Unthinkable" movie poses a moral dilemma: how much someone is willing to reach a point of pure cruelty, by inflicting unimaginable pain to his/her procrastinated victim and his family in order to save a few millions?

In fact, This movie put a nude a simple truth! We as human being, are indeed capable of unthinkable acts of horror by being torturer, judge, and executioner of a human life, without respect for any morality knowing that if, when we weren't capable to react with necessary inhumanity to an imminent danger, later, we'll have to face tragic consequences because the lack of it (inhumanity).

In normal situations (as we like to think) we can be moralists and judgmental, but put ourselves in a tragic situation that demands some atrocities from our part in order to save many other our similar, then, our morals will for sure perish in this inconceivable (in normal conditions it would be inconceivable) process.

Final thought:

What will be left inside of us when it has been devoid of any trace of morality? What we will become? Of course after those terrible acts will be consummated, what we'll be left of us would be empty shells completely denuded by any sign of human decency.

Yeap! In a plain and simple way we'll be more like beasts, or worst, atrocious things hah walking on this earth.

In similar circumstances what you would do?Signature

Apocalypse versus the final apocalypse.

Category:

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

I've been trying to analyze how the world could end within hypothetical apocalyptic scenarios, and I came to realize that in reality there are two kinds of apocalypses.

As the title of this post states, "Apocalypse versus the final apocalypse" what I really meant with it? I try to explain with some examples: first off, the simple (if I can really call it simple) apocalyptic scenario is when a man-made catastrophe such as a nuclear war between let me say India and Pakistan, or between Israel and Iran.

Of course, a nuclear war between any of the above mentioned rivals, will be a doomsday scenario by itself. But still, it will be a partial apocalypse for humanity.

How so?

Even when the participants of this (I'm afraid not so much...) hypothetical nuclear war will suffer with millions of deaths, and will it in the end be the total destruction of their nations, and consequentially with the rest of the world suffering from the nuclear fallout. Yet, it won't be a real Apocalypse but a partial one.

This is a nightmarish disaster for humanity which I firmly believe will happen someday, and unfortunately it is unavoidable. This is the apocalypse, or as I put it: a simple apocalypse. The aftermaths of it will be a slow and painful recovery for humanity.

You see, only when humanity will realize to be on the brink of disaster such as a limited nuclear war, then humanity will react to it. Still as I mentioned, there will be a recovery for humanity from a partial doomsday scenario, or as I was saying before from a simple apocalyptic scenario.

What about the, "final apocalypse"?

There isn't much explanatory to it. As the word, "final" implies it is final, no chances of survival for humanity but the end!

Of course, this kind of apocalypse will never happen....because of a total nuclear war, but there is an other kind of final apocalypse which is been dictated by humanity, and this other one is happening right now under our own eyes.

The difference of this other, "final apocalypse" is that it is slow, very slow, so slow that to be perceive it, we need to pay a close attention to it. We are so much busy with our lives that we are failing to pay any attention to it. That's why most of us fail to recognize it as an apocalyptic event!

What is it?

It is our world being slowly poisoned by our sewage and garbage dumped in lands and seas, it is our skies been polluted with poisoning gases, it is our trees been corroded by acid rain, it is the fishes been depleted from the oceans, it is all the animals wiped out from earth's surface.

That's what it is!

We are slowly contaminating our own world and with it sentencing our own survival. I'm afraid this is our, "final apocalypse".

Why so?

Because we are wasting time in useless debates while the clock is ticking away the time we have left to our, "final apocalypse".

There are too much political debates and very little actions to a very urgent situation. That's what we are doing right now! Wasting time, while the, "final doomsday" is approaching very fast!

Unfortunately in this instance, there isn't a wake up call before the real disaster hits home, or as I was saying before regarding the limited nuclear war, a simple apocalypse (a big disaster in which humanity would still be able to recover from) which could shake us all from our torpid sleeps, but this time it will be...the final one.

New ages of decadences, terrors and environmental catastrophes.

Category:

I have a few unanswered questions of my own, regarding humanity conditions and hopes for its own future:

  • Is the world we live in today after reaching its pinnacle, now it's going toward new ages of decadences and terrors, or worst, a total regression of the human's civilizations due to its climate changes.
  • And, how humanity will in a thousand years from now, remembered these times of uncertainties and fears?

Looking from different prospectives it's like there are dark forces behind the shadows of conspiracy and terror, and on top of all that, it's
like even nature is conspiring for an early departure of humanity from this world, due to environmental catastrophes. Like the same fate that happened to the dinosaurs it's as well reserved for humanity, a likely, quickly approaching time, of feared early dismissal from this world? All together, these dark's factors are complotting to push this our modern world to an unavoidable doomsday catastrophe, or of a regression to a new dark age.

Are all these possible scenarios, waiting humanity in the next centuries, or millennium?

My crude answer is: Yes.

Unfortunately, they are real scenarios that we have to deal with in the next centuries, or millennium. It's already happening today, but when all these scenarios will reach its zenith, I wont' be there to see, or to witness how humanity will deal with them, or if humanity will survive to the after consequences.

From what I have seen, or learned, there are not sure answerers to any of the above questions, but hopes. Hopes that humanity will overcome all the uncertainties that the future will lay on humanity's path. Probably, humanity will find solutions, or better it will adapt to these new scenarios. In the light of its ancient history, humanity has always overcome much of its obstacles by adapting its way of life, or adapting its thinking. Yes, in all probabilities humanity will survive them. Primarily, because of its ability of thinking... Humanity will come out affected and scarred by all these eventful uncertainties, but then, it will raise again to new high pinnacles (that's at least what I hope).

Regarding my question:

How humanity will remember these times of uncertainties and fears?

Likely, it will look back at humanity of this time in history, as of a re
bel youngster while is in its act of learning to growing up, while in the same time it's learning to measure its own abilities of adaptations and solutions, to all the mistakes he has made during its infancy's exuberances and recklessnesses on this our poor world.

Conclusion:

Hopefully, there will be a world that will look back at all th
e stupid mistakes we are making today, (mostly made because of our self-interest without regard for the consequences for others, or even less, for the environment we live in) for we to regret tomorrow!!!

This article is a premises, of what I will personally embark in my next writings for a better understanding to causes, affects and possible solutions of today missteps and woes, in which humanity has to face with, after all the pilla
ging and almost depletion of our world's resources, or at least whatever we got left of them.

In my next articles, I will talk about food crises, environment's disasters, fuels crisis and much more... But, in the same time I will keep blogging on what I have been doing in the past months, meaning: the dangers of a radicalized Islam and the condition of the Muslim women in it. Plus, I will keep blogging on whatever world's event happens during my blogging time.

I know it's a monumental task, it will take time and much effort, but then, I have all the time and the willingness on my hands that will require to accomplish it.

Religions, the panacea for all mankind woes?

Category:

In this article I use a different approach to Islam teachings view and not only Islam, but in addition, any other religion teachings.

I may not agree with Islam religion teachings, neither with Jewish religion teachings or, I may even disagree with my own religion teaching (which by the way it's Catholicism), but in particular the case of Islam. As I wrote ones, I will never show my disapproval to someone opinions with homicidal aims, that's against my personal (and not related it, to any religion whatsoever) beliefs. I know, this article may sounds somewhat too simplistic in the end, but I'm trying to make my point across, even though it won't be a completely, exhaustive and logical approach at my argumentation, partly because it will take too many postings thus, I'm forced to come up with a summarized and limited version of my personal view on religions. In an attempt of a better explanation, I will go about it in all different directions.

*****

I do not believe, to the goodness that religions bring to humanity nowadays. When I see a human being standing in front of my eyes, I won't evaluate him, from his skin color or, ideology and even less from his faith, but I see him as equal.

I'm Catholic only by name, but not by choice. In fact, I'm not so sure to believe in my religion or, any other religion, I'm not even sure if, to believe in God or, for the mere fact in any other God. Therefore, you can say: am I an atheist? No, not even that! Even the word "atheism", sounds like it belongs to a kind of religion. In a way, I believe in some sort of religion. The religion of science. You can say that's not a religion, and I can't agree more, but that's the only real thing I firmly believe in. Science is the only sure thing that can gives us all the answers we need in life's crisis events.

I know, mankind came out from Africa, our real mother land, the cradle of all human races was indeed, Africa. Back in those prehistoric times, the first humans were with animal instincts. Our forefathers were indeed, apes. To a religion, any religion to just pronounce that yesterday as well today, it will mark you as a blasphemer. When, the first human beings moved out of Africa still with inborn animal instincts, their first settlements were in the middle east. Also, right in that precise moment in the very beginning of the first human communities, the first unsophisticated laws in the prehistory of humanity were born out the basic needs of a more peaceful living together. In fact, from apes like behavior to a more humans behavior, the stealing from each others pieces of fresh raw meat coming from small preys just killed wasn't anymore accepted as humanity, grew up to be more conditioned by moralities dictated from their own evolving intellects.

Contemporaneously, when those archaic laws in the humanity prehistory sprung out from the need of a more harmonious living together amongst human beings, also, the first unrefined religions based on many deities were born.

In those prehistorical days, the first human beings were more apelike and when they started to gaze the skys then, the surrounding nature and probably saw for the first time their images reflecting in a pool of water. Subsequently they realized that, they were in fact living, thinking beings with questions, a lots questions of, where they came from and why they were to be? I can't figure how hard must been for them, to not find any acceptable answers at their questioning of why they were alive. Those first primordial human beings, with all the probability got in a deep emotional distress when asked themselves those questions. Who were them, why they were put there? Humanity first crisis has etched in its self-awareness for the first time, a spiritual crisis which could lead them to a path of insanity. But, in its early stage humanity had found a plausible answer within its self-awareness, it found spirituality and consequently, it had found something else. Humanity had found religion, of course not that kind of monotheistic religions we know today, but was the kind of religion based on objects found in the surrounding areas where humans were used to dwell. When humanity needed comfort in times of crisis, humans started to worship unanimated object, like a stone or, an animal skull or, even things like wind, rain, water or, fire. Even though, those common objects were not living things, humanity gave to those idols divine powers. Humanity gave them the power to make rain or, the power to make humans less vulnerable to diseases or, to be more skilled hunters. Those same idols which humanity gave those divine powers, also, these idols gave to humans all the answers they needed to overcome all their doubts and crisis.

Religions, an answer to all humanity daily concerns?

When the first civilization has began, it also started its first chapter on human history with religions as a part of it. unfortunately, even though in the beginnin
g of human history, religions and the worshiping of many deities was a kind of help for the jump start of the human civilizations, when humans began more sophisticated, also they were more demanding from religions, they sought from them more answers to their doubts and crisis.

Religions have been the main excuse for many bloody wars, in battlefield around the world.

In the beginning, civilizations were based on chaotic and violent societies and the laws of men were not enough to rule on them. Humanity, consequently wanted religions to be more intertwined within their societies by superimposing and sometime even by replacing internal politics and laws.

In these societies, there were men that thought humanity needed guidance from the Gods and religions. Those same men were the voice and the prophets of God. They told to the common mortals that, God himself gave them all the answers humanity needed to overcome all the problems societies have created. That's when, religions starts to collide with the daily realities of humanity.

Religions should be thought only as a spiritual guidance in support of spiritual crisis, not to be mixed with the men's political makings, let alone, to be it dictated and imposed upon the moralities of societies. I'm not against any religion, but in particular case such as Islam, I have doubts and reservations. Hence, I'm afraid that in this modern age Islam may take the world to a near abyss if, it should not reform itself and adapt to a more free and democratic world by been more tolerant to every human being living on the face of planet earth, regardless of his/her behavioral tendency, religion or, sex.

Amen.

Six degrees more that, will change the world as we know today.

Category:

All those experts, in the global warming field are, warning us about an increases of a couple more degrees in earth's Eco-system could lead humanity to, a cataclysmic disaster. One thing for sure, this tendency of earth's raising temperatures is already happening. Based on the climatologists theories, it's even possible of an increase of six more degrees in our planet. Where, will these climatic mutations take our planet in the near future ? Those 6 more degrees, which will change radically our world the way we know today to, a very alien one.

When, not if these theories will concretize in all their full extents before the end of this century could, these six more degrees increase, leave our planet to different possible events and, scenarios.

Of course they will.

With these degrees increase, superior to the last 100 years history will lead our future to new dramatic scenarios.

*****

Possible scenarios.

* Earth, without the Amazonian forest.

* Without snow on the Himalaya .
* The Arctic poles without ice caps.
* Ghost cities.
* An increase in the desert lands.

* Tropical areas will move from their actual positions, toward a more north or, south directions.

While, other areas of the planet would benefit from the global warm
ing trend. The United Kingdom for example, it's already getting some benefits from the milder clime in the agriculture and, in Greenland where at most was used to grow only potatoes, since a couple of years it has begun other kinds of cultivation.

Of course, a lot depends on how many degrees will effectively increase earth's temperature.

For a better picture of the possible futures that, are waiting us cons
equently to these cataclysmic changes, I will list all of them by going from degree to degree after, I've reviewed all the expert's opinions and, estimations.

*****

Possible scenarios by degrees.

Plus 1 degree:

With 1 more degree, the Arctic will be without ices for more than half of a year's period. Consequently from the ices melting from one more degree, water's level in the oceans will raise while, contemporaneously many of the world's sea coastal areas will sink.

Plus 2 degrees:

With two more degrees, the Tuvalu's archipelago will completely submerge in the sea and, possibly the "Great Barrier Reef", will disappear all together.

Plus 3 degrees: ( it's where more dramatic events will take place).

Amazonian forest in flames, on the Alps won't be anymore snow left, in central Europe wo
uld be more like a north African climate, than today.

Plus 4 degrees:

With four more degrees, countries like Bangladesh and, Egypt will be devastated. Venice will disappear into the waters. Nations, like Canada will become one of the most fertile land on the entire planet.

Plus 5 degrees:

With five more degrees, in place of the temperate bands in the two hemispheres, would be replaced by two enormous uninhabitable zones. Millions of persons would be forced to leave their own lands.

Plus six degrees:

Cities like Tokyo or, New York would be abandoned or completely submerged by waters. Part of the planet would risk to return to the Cretaceous period: that's a 144-65 millions of years ago.

Cretaceous period

Note: degrees are in Celsius, not Fahrenheits.

*****

It's all science fiction? Some skeptics are, easily dismissing the facts.

I could say, only time will tell but (I'm afraid that), these hypothetically futures aren't (unfortunately), so much distant anymore. All these possibilities, are really scary pictures. I don't want to be too pessimistic on the matter but, time is running out...

Battles for the civilization.-"Abortion."

Category:

Abortion is last thorny issue in this my "Battles for the civilization" trilogy.
The moral and legal aspects of abortion are subject of debates all over the world.

*****

Pro-life or, pro-choice?

Should any laws interfere with a woman's or couple's decision for an abortion or, when to carry it out?
In the first instance, the mother has the right to decide for an abortion without any laws interposing in the matter.
In the second instance, which stage abortion should be allowed?
That's the real though part of the abortion issue.
The pre-embr
yo has no human shape, organs, skin, or brain, at this early stage it can't be recognized as human at all.
At the end of the 8th week, the embryonic stage is over, and the fetal stage begins.

At what stage we can define an human being as such?

In humans, the fetal stage of prenatal development begins about eight weeks after fertilization.
A fetus in the
mother's womb, isn't a fully developed human being until the major structures and organ systems have formed.
In this early stage, the fetus has not yet reached a fully functioning brain, consequently isn't a human being.
That's the real key question about abortion.
What makes an
human being, having all his parts put together and in working order but, not having a working cerebral activity yet.
Can we determine at this stage he's a completely human being?
No, I don't believe up to this p
oint we can say he's an human being, but it is a potential human being.

When a fetus starts to be a conscious, sentient human being in the mother's uterus?

The fetus at around 26 weeks, at this stage, it will be able to feel pain for the first time.
Afterwards the questions are:
It has become conscious of its surroundings?
The fetus has bec
ome a sentient human life for the first time?
This is more of a religious, and moral aspects.
At this point,
I firmly believe in my personal opinion, any abortion shouldn't be carried out after the 6th months.
After the six months period, to the moment of birth even though there isn't any definitive proof of the fetus' self-consciousness, I am for the pro-life case, but this doesn't means that should be enforced by any anti-abortion/pro-abortion laws, but solely based in the woman's or couple's decision to do the right choice.

Anti-abortionists view abortion as the murder of unborn children, these crusaders for 'pro-life' are too radical in their own views.
They are entrenched in their beliefs, that human life it's sacred in any case, even when there is a real need for an abortion.
Some of these hard-liners should relax from their own positions, and in the same time stand back at let decide, who's really personally involved in this matter.

At last from the news:

The Catholic church wants to present a resolution to the United Nation, similar to the Moratorium for the death penalty.
Personally, I don't believe this resolution will do anything good to the abortion issue in either ways (meaning pro-life or pro-choice),
but it is just a palliative to the issue, and besides a temporary suspension, it's unfeasible in this contest.

For these life and death battles, humanity hasn't yet reached a final conclusion, because its moralities, and probably never will.
But than, that's what moralities make of us what we are: "Human beings".

Life on planet earth was born by causalities, not by some godly will.

Category:

Introduction:

If you are looking for a fun blog, this isn't the place you are looking for, but if you are looking for some enlightenment "maybe", you will find some in here.
This article, is a my personal deep introspective, in the human condition of achievements and, hopes.

*****

We all, born and die in t
his world by chances, not by a high will.
I don't believe, there's a path already laid in front of us, but only casual events, which determine our fates.
"Today unfortunately I am in a negative mood, probably after looking for some God answers to my prayers.
I'm a catholic only by name, but in reality I didn't choose to be it.
I came to realize that, whatever I do, the world won't stop to move forward in its destructive path."

*****

Humanity, primordial birth sprang from mother earth generosity and, afterward by co-occurrences, we were elevated to intelligent identities.
But do we, deserve this gift from mother earth?
Some time I think, we don't!
What use we mak
e of our intellects, sometime is really questionable.
Looking in our ancient history, I can say that we made of our intellects, a really bad use!
Our ancestors were apes, and like all the living beings from this planet, we were indeed rooted with animal instincts.
Only with time, and only by accidents, we succeed finally to get toward, a higher status as unique species, differentiating ourselves, from all the rest of living beings of this world.
We in fact, became thinking beings!

We are weak in our minds, we are doubtfully of our decisions, we pray for forgiveness for our own sins.
That
why we are always, looking for comfort and support to our doubts and, weaknesses, in a perennial need of guidances, and reassurances from something that isn't there.
We are not unique in God's eyes, because isn't there any God looking upon us.
We can evolve from this stage only if, we accept who or what we really are!

(My mind is in a complex, and sometime confusedness state, due to the fact that it, is looking for answers.
Answers I won't get from anyone, except from within myself.
This is only a phase of my personal life, I hope, I'll get through this like other times, may be with...God help?
Now I've been controversial!
Indeed I am, but only because I'm human, and as all the rest of humanity I'm weak, and prone to mistakes, and therefore looking for assurances to my doubts, but in the same time I know, I can count only on my intellect to overcome this stage.)

As humanity in its superior intellect may one day, realize that needs to take care for the world in its entirety, including all the living beings on it, because it is the only one we have and than, only than, when we will realize all this, we may one day achieve to another stage of human evolution, we will elevate ourselves close to God.

We'll be more God like because, we finally will manage our fates "our existences are only in our hands".

All this can be debatable, but irrefutably is a necessity to talk about it.
Undoubtedly, we are guided and m
otivated by contort and,
selfishness concerns, rather than selfless intents.
Intellect can be a be a distinctive factor on human consciousness, in determine our destiny.
In fact, humanity depends on its own intellect to survive and, move forward for a
better and, brighter future.
Also, when we'll le
arn to really tolerate and, take care of our less fortunate, our environment, and of all the living beings on it, than we will move closer to a high achievement.
We will become all together, an all new species.
We'll become a highly elevated beings, ready to move forward in our evolution.

What complex, and dark thoughts I got today.
Tomorrow "hopefully", will be a better day...

As final thought, an article that I found interesting, and that I recommend to read in its entirety:

*****

The Individual.

Before I go into the final outlines of Informationalism, I thought it would be best to write something solely concerning the individual. One must not forget what has been said earlier, that you cannot separate the good of the individual from the good of the species, they are one and the same.

You, can read more at this link.
